What paper stock do you print on?
Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308. This is a heavy weight 100% cotton rag. The natural tone and felt-like texture make it great for both colour and black & white photography, and fine art reproductions. For this reason it is one of the most widely used archival cotton rags in the world.

Handles the full coverage of darker colours, especially black, beautifully, with less tendency for flaking and scuffing like other fine art papers.

Why buy fine art prints?
Professional fine art printing combines the magic of archival inks and archival paper which helps your print to be resistant to fading - an important choice if you plan to display your print in a sunny room.

What do you mean “acid-free”?
This is a special paper that basically means that the paper won’t brown or decompose over time.

And what are “archival papers and inks” all about?
The holy grail of Fine Art Prints. Archival ink is specifically designed to be resistant to weathering and fading so that it will last for a long time. In other words, your print will look fresh as for ages! Archival inks work best when printed on archival paper, ensuring a long and happy life for your favourite Lola prints.

Can you frame my print too?
Yes! When making your order, you can select from black, white or raw framing with a classic finish. Prints are placed straight in against the glass, mat free (meaning the print fills right to the edge of the frame) taped and strung ready to hang. Custom framing jobs are available on request. Just send me an email to hello@lolaphotography.co.nz.
Shipping for A0 framed prints is quoted per order.
Framed prints cannot be shipped overseas.

What are the finished dimensions of your framing?
A4 = 260mm x 345mm
A3 = 345mm x 470mm
A2 = 470mm x 645mm
A1 = 645mm x 890mm
A0 = 905mm x 1250mm

Framing notes and care instructions:
All frames have acid free backing boards and standard 2mm glass.
A4 frames have hanging teeth and A3 - A1 frames are traditionally strung with d-rings.
A0 frames are strung if portrait or d-rings only (no string) if landscape.
Raw Frames are natural, uncoated wood and will slightly darken over time.
Special glass (non-reflective or UV), or archival mats and baking boards are available on request.
All frames are cleanly tapped on the back for a professional finish.
Avoid direct sun light to protect your art from fading.
A1 and A0 sized framed prints with a landscape orientation should be hung with two picture hooks with a gap between them. If you hang with one picture hook pressure is increased on the joins and can pull apart over time.

I want a photo that I can’t see on your site, how do I order it?
Please email hello@lolaphotography.co.nz including a screenshot or link of the photo you are interested in and the size you’d like. I will either add it to the site or create a custom order special just for you!

Why is your delivery period so long?
All my prints are made to order and individually checked for quality. If you live in Auckland and need your print a little more urgently, get in touch and I’ll see what I can do.

How do I care for my print?
Fine art paper can be delicate, and images with deep blacks can scratch easily. To avoid any boo-boos, make sure you handle your new print with clean, dry hands and open your package in a dry, spacious indoor area away from food and liquids.

When is your Christmas order cut off date?
My printing studio can get very busy leading up to Christmas, so I highly recommend you get your print orders in by the 6th December to allow for printing and postage time.

Can I commission an art piece?
Most definitely. Get in touch to let me know what you have in mind. Usually my clients will just send me off to their favourite place in NZ (or the world) and see what I come up with!

I’m coming to New Zealand. Where should I visit?
Blog post of my favourite spots in the making. Come back soon!

Can I assist for you?
I’m not currently looking for an assistant and often manage shoots by myself or with my husband and friends. However, next year I will be looking at taking on one-off assistants, so keep an eye out on my Instagram for updates.

How long have you been a photographer?
14 years!

How do I become a full time photographer like you?
Shoot shoot shoot! In my 14 years experience, I have only been a full time professional photographer for 10 years of that. They say it takes 10,000 hours doing something to become an expert in it. It’s not going to happen overnight (unless you go viral, then high bloody five). One of the best things I did was assist for other successful photographers. It gave me a really useful insight into different genres of photography while picking up the best tips and tricks.

Why is the ocean such a central theme to your work?
Living in New Zealand has given me a very natural affinity for the ocean. I spend a lot of my life in and around it, so it’s easy to be inspired by it. It’s beautiful, yet terrifying and interacts with light in the coolest way.

Can I buy your presets?
